The Direct Support Professional provides hands-on care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping each person achieve greater independence, dignity, and quality of life at home and in the community.
Assist with daily living and personal care tasks as outlined in each client’s Individual Support Plan (ISP) or Behavior Support Plan (BSP).
Implement teaching strategies and behavior supports to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
Maintain safety and active supervision—remain alert, engaged, and supportive throughout each shift.
Encourage independence, communication, recreation, and community inclusion.
Complete daily documentation, timesheets, and communication logs accurately and on time.
Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the home or facility.
Provide transportation for clients as needed per BSP/ISP goals.
Perform physical tasks as required (lift/push up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods).
Must be 18 years or older.
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
Clear BCI/FBI background check (no disqualifying offenses).
Completion of CPR/First Aid and other required trainings
